As one of the co-founders of ProGrowTech, Joe Visintainer serves as Vice President of Sales & Marketing. In this role, Joe focuses on direct sales, strategic partnerships and sales implementation activities that help clients increase profitability, yield and energy efficiency with the industry’s leading LED lighting systems.
With more than 15 years in the lighting industry, Joe brings an intimate knowledge of the power of lighting to growers nationwide, as well as a profound desire to link them with the best possible lighting options for their specific needs.
A leader and respected mentor, Joe holds a Certified Energy Manager (CEM) designation, in addition to certifications as LEED AP and Certified Demand Side Manager. He specializes in lighting design, manufacture, implementation and all aspects of energy conservation. His client-first approach gives growers peace of mind knowing they have the best, scientifically backed technology working for them.
Prior to ProGrowTech, Joe owned Paradigm Energy, a lighting manufacturer representative agency dedicated to the retrofit market handling audits, design, project development, implementation and rebate administration. There, he leveraged his professional knowledge and relationships to help clients achieve better and safer lighting, while maximizing energy savings and reducing maintenance expenses.
Before forming his own lighting company, Joe held the role of National Lighting Director at Young Electric Sign Company (YESCO), a manufacturer of electric signs that provides design, fabrication, installation and maintenance services. He was responsible for business development, training, negotiating and closing business across all 85 locations. During his time at YESCO, he grew the retrofit business from $1.5 million to more than $9 million.
Previously, Joe was also a division manager at Facility Solutions Group AZ, the largest lighting distribution and electrical contractor in the nation, where he led and trained lighting professionals to guide customers through their many different lighting needs from energy efficiency and enhancements to upgrades and maintenance reductions. He also served as general manager at electrical contractor DECA Southwest and branch manager at distributor Voss Lighting.
A strong believer in the power of LED technology, Joe has a deep-seated passion to create a local and global impact in eradicating food uncertainty, malnutrition and hunger by creating sustainable local food
production via indoor agriculture. As co-founder, he is working to apply ProGrowTech’s resources –technological, workforce and financial – to give back to charities committed to eliminating hunger.
Joe earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Arizona. An active member of his local community, he serves on Parent Advisory Councils at both Campo Verde High School and Gilbert Unified School District.
