With more than 25 years of experience guiding technology organizations through transformative growth, Ron Hurle serves as Chief Operations Officer at ProGrowTech. A seasoned executive and collaborative leader, he oversees day-to-day operations and ensures the company has optimal processes in place to meet increasing customer demand and drive sustainable expansion.
In addition to his position at ProGrowTech, Ron serves as Chief Innovation Officer at Coconino Community College in Flagstaff, helping to connect workers to the college programs they need and streamlining technology offerings for faculty and students. In this role, Ron also workswith universities and community colleges throughout the state on updating the fiber optic infrastructure for Northern Arizona,which will improvehigh-speedinternet access for residents and students.
Additionally, Ron serves as Founder and Managing Director at Business Leadership Partners, providing executive management consulting, leadership counseling, organizational design, IT services and more to companies in a variety of industries.
Previously, Ron served as Chief Information Officer and Chief Information Security Officer for the California Public Employee Retirement System (CalPERS), supporting technology requirements for the state’s pension and health systems, which cover 1.8 million members and more than 3,000 employers. Ron has continued consulting for CalPERS, most recently assisting with organizational design for its IT department.
Ron previously served as Chief Operating Officer for VMC, which provides call center services to one of the largest providers of smartphones and small form factor devices in addition to testing and localization capabilities to the gaming industry. He ensured optimal sales function and developed new testing locations around the globe, helping elevate VMC into the premier video game testing company in the world.
Ron also spent nine years as Vice President and General Manager of IT Operations for Intel, leading 1,700 employees across 79 sites in 27 countries to support the company’s more than 100,000 employees. During his time at Intel, Ron was tasked with consolidating the company’s technology footprint by two thirds, managing a budget of $450 million and traveling worldwide.
Ron places a great emphasis on community involvement, serving on the technology advisory committee for the Northern Arizona Intergovernmental Public Transit Authority, providing insight and recommendations to improve public transportation in Northern Arizona.He also regularly volunteers with the Grand Canyon Conservancy, previously serving as the organization’s Chief Operations Officer. An animal lover at heart, Ron also worked with a team that included Coconino County and the City of Flagstaff to reopen High Country Humane, a shelter for dogs and cats in Flagstaff, Ariz.
While at Intel, Ron assisted with disaster relief efforts for the Indian Ocean Tsunami and Hurricane Katrina, providing technology to help relief workers find missing people and reunite families. He also served as the United Way representative for the company and volunteered with Junior Achievement.
